At least 13 people were injured in minor incidents of violence in the Valley today. Around 11 people were injured when militants lobbed a grenade on a campaign vehicle of Independent candidate, Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar, from Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency in South Kashmir today, official sources said.

The incident occurred around 4 pm in Pulwama district town but it missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside wounding 11 pedestrians, they said. Dar, however, was not in the vehicle.

In another incident, tension gripped Sopore township of Baramulla district in North Kashmir today when the BSF troops opened fire to chase away a group protesting the arrest of a youth, injuring two.

Meanwhile, an IED planted on a bicycle by suspected militants exploded at Rawalpora on Old Airport Road in uptown city today, official sources said. However, no one was injured.

In Srinagar, BJP candidate from Anantnag parliamentary constituency Sofi Mohammad Yousuf escaped a militant attack on his residence last night, official sources said today. Militants lobbed a grenade at his residence at Lazibal, but it missed the intended target and exploded outside the boundary wall, the sources added.
