NEW DELHI, OCT 5: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad is getting trendy. It is also getting net-savvy. Asserting that enough is enough, VHP international working president Ashok Singhal day launched his organisation8217;s website yesterday afternoon amidst the chanting of vedic mantras at its R.K. Puram headquarters.

So, henceforth, whenever you want to seek any information about the organisation, all you have to do is log on to vhp.org. 8220;This is the 21st century. This is the era of computers and information technology,8221; observed Shyam Lal Verma, the man behind the VHP show. 8220;Even though there are many books on our organisation, we felt that having our own website would be the most effective medium to spread information about our activities.8221;

Singhal, however, was more forthcoming about the real aims behind the idea. 8220;We8217;re projected as the killers of Gandhi and the destroyers of the Babri Masjid, which are far from truth. We will have to counter this negative, one-sided propaganda. We have to remove the misconceptions in the minds of the elite and the English-speaking generation. The website is an effort in this direction,8221; the VHP veteran remarked.

The website, which has pages in both Hindi and English, was launched in association with the Global Hindu Electronic Network and the Hindu Students8217; Council of America. It provides details about the organisation8217;s origins and growth, its objectives, its many dimensions, including its service aspect, and the details about the numerous movements carried out by the VHP.

The decision to have our own website, Verma disclosed, was taken at a meeting in Pune on April 13-14 this year.
