MUMBAI, SEPT 1: The fate of Saddle Up, winner of the 1999 Indian Derby at Mahalakshmi, and its trainer will be known on Thursday.

The famed horse’s urine sample was tested positive for Finadyne and Diclofenac. It’s a charge the champion’s trainer, Imtiaz Sait, and the owners (United Racing & Bloodstock Breeders Ltd) have vehemently denied after a DNA test in the USA found that the samples were contaminated.

The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) deliberated on the matter for seven hours on Wednesday with the connections of Saddle Up but decided that their verdict will be known on Thursday.
