Dalit Samiti to submit memorandum
The Dalit Sangram Samiti will submit a memorandum to Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel protesting against the government8217;s new grant-in-aid policy. The samiti members have said that the new policy would adversely affect the education of Dalits, especially Dalit girls.

Breathing course
A six-day course on breathing techniques and self-knowledge is being organised by the Vyakti Vikas Kendra at the GEB School, Old Padra Road, between 6 pm and 9 pm from Monday. The course will be a combination of ancient wisdom and modern science. Interested applicants may contact 333910 or Asha Desai at 338043 for further details between 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm.

Symposium
The department of Applied Physics of the M S University8217;s Faculty of Technology and Engineering is organising an international symposium on luminescence and its applications in February. During the symposium, research activities on the subject will be discussed.

Governor8217;s call
Governor S S Bhandari said on Sunday that the people of the country should rise to the occasion and provide moral support to armymen fighting intruders in Kargil. He was addressing a function on the occasion of the 60th birth anniversary of Indirabatiji.
