BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley today lashed out at the UPA Government saying it owed its ‘‘survival in the past one year to its anti-BJPism and behaved less like a government and more like an Opposition to BJP’’.
‘‘Anti-BJPism has helped the Government pull through for the past one year and that is probably why even those parties, which are embarrassing the Government now, will continue to support it for some more time for their survival; but this cannot really ensure longevity to the Government,’’ he told a press conference here this evening after a meeting with the office bearers of BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit.
Noting that the past one year had been a year of vindictiveness, Jaitley alleged that various institutions ‘‘were subverted to help tainted ministers like Lalu Prasad and to harass people like Arun Shourie’’.
He also accused the government of making compromises on national security and misusing the office of the governors.
