Of all the tortured love stories we read of every day, none quite matches the triangular affair between Karan, Nandini and Ansh in Kyunki Star. Nandini loves Karan and he returns her affection, even if his way of showing it is to obstruct her every move. His long lost brother Ansh fancies Nandini too, even though his romantic vocabulary does not extend beyond8212;8216;8216;I want you8217;8217;. And what Ansh wants Ansh gets by hook or by crook but mostly by crook.

Now, instead of behaving like a regular guy and simply uttering those three little words8212;8216;8216;I love you8217;8217;8212;to Nandini, Karan turns his attention to an attractive colleague convincing Nandini to marry Ansh. Ansh8217;s idea of marriage is to dress her up in cut-up clothes. So Nandini knows he8217;s a weirdo and makes lollipop eyes at Karan yaani ki round, large and sweet but he just don8217;t get it. Men8230;

As for Jassi Sony, well it8217;s probably true that many secretaries or special assistants? fall in love with their rich and handsome bosses. Question is, how many of them who look and dress like Jassi would have ensnared not only the handsome boss Armaan but also the even richer and more handsome rival Purab? We hope plenty because then there would be some just compensation in this world for loyalty, goodness, talent, compassion8212;and teeth with braces.

Much more realistic was Kuch Kehna Hai Mujhko Sony: the middle-aged, married boss has a fling with his young, curvaceous and willing assistant, out of momentary lust and long-harboured resentment that his wife embarked on a professional career with the help of her old flame. This has to be the most believable of Ektaa Kapoor8217;s Balaji Telefilms serials. It also sees fine performances from Pallavi Joshi and Kiran Karmarkar as the married couple. Last week, Joshi left Karmarkar followed by his mother. Dunno how many mothers would walk out on their sons, but the gesture gets full marks for symbolism.

Yeh Meri Life Hai, which has had a middle-class hangover the size of a cupboard, is improving8212;if you can ignore Baby Doll spinning like she was a washing machine. Last week, the spoilt, rich brat decides to have his way with an innocent, trusting middle-class girl Pooja, the heroine of the serial and tries to molest her in his fancy car. She fights him off but the combination of a dented ego and a drunken stupor see him run over a pedestrian and leave him for dead. We know this happens all the time, so a thumbs-up for the serial.

What you like about Tamanna House Zee is that it makes no pretense to be within air-kissing distance of reality. There8217;s this opulent couple celebrating their impending separation with an extravagant party to which each guest invites another. Each and everyone of them is demented or acts as if one or several joints is unhinged. They speak in non sequiturs to ensure no one understands them and generally behave in the manner of actors at pains to convince you they are acting. Ruby Bhatia is lovely in a white gown that shows off her slender frame. Now if only she could act8230;or would that be unrealistic?
