University of Alaska, Fairbanks (UAF) is organising a special interactive session for Pune students at Garware College on Tuesday between 5 pm and 7pm. The objective of this interactive session is to create awareness about educational opportunities and programs offered by UAF, the admission process and scholarships. Students aspiring to study at the UAF will get the opportunity to interact directly with the university officials. According to Prof Shirish Patil, chairman of Petroleum Engineering Department, UAF one of the major highlights of the interactive session in Pune would be that the major part of admission procedure for all the programs shall be completed in Pune itself. This will be convenient for aspiring students and they can also get an indication about the merit-based scholarships that are offered by the UAF to international students. Since UAF has a sister city agreement with Pune, students from Pune going to the UAF for studies are offered with 66% reduction in tuition fees.
