SAS NAGAR, June 9: Minor fires were reported in two separate incidents in the township today. The first blaze was reported around 1 p.m. in Sarkanda, adjuscent to the 66 KV sub-station of Punjab State Electricity Board near village Ratwara. It took one hour8217;s toil and one fire tender to bring the fire under control. The current heat wave is said to have been the cause of the accident.

In another incident, a blaze was reported from the Phase VII branch of the Andhra Bank. The fire started around 3 p.m. and is said to have been caused due to a short-circut. Electricity gadgets worth Rs 5,000 were gutted.
