PUNE, Sept 23: Two persons were killed on the spot and three injured in two separate highway mishaps in the city and its rural outskirts since Wednesday evening.

Baliram Gena Bend 34 was killed when a jeep dashed against his bullock cart and sped away at Ghagargaon village near Indapur on Pune Solapur highway.

Two others in the bullock cart were injured.Police identified one of the injured as Bend8217;s friend Gana Jagannath Dhumal 29. Devidas Nana Thisale 55 of Karmaveer Nagar slums in Nigdi was killed while Dilip Dharma Chavan 25 of Nigdi Pradhikaran was injured when a jeep dashed against their bicycles at Nigdi octroi post on Thursday evening.
