Two days seminar on environment held

VADODARA, Jan 20: A two-day seminar on Planning and Management of Urban Environment, organised by the All-India Institute of Local Self Government AIILSG, was inaugurated here by State Minister for Urban Development Kaushik Patel on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, AIILSG President Jatin Modi gave detailed information on tackling of industrial waste, bio-medical waste and domestic waste. He stressed that for a clean and healthy urban environment, it was important for the corporation to adopt a privatised system and encourage popular participation in the same.

He also added that considering the burgeoning chemical units and industries around Vadodara, a disaster management institute was essential for the city.
