NEW DELHI, March 3: Following the arrest of two persons, the special staff of the west district police claims to have solved a murder for which neither was a case registered, nor was the body found. The police had apparently arrested the murderer for some other offense. The police has now sent a team to Kashipur UP to recover the dead body at the instance of the alleged murderer.

According to the district special staff in-charge, Inspector Bhatnagar, the police today arrested a 19-year-old man, Sher Ali and recovered a knife from his possession. On interrogation, the man disclosed that he had also made 8220;another mistake8221;. He revealed that he had murdered a 27-year-old doctor, Shiv Kumar, in Kondli for Rs 5,000. The police rushed a team to the spot and arrested 22-year-old Sunil Kumar for hiring8217; Ali.

Bhatnagar said that the deceased, Shiv Kumar, used to live in block E, Kondli, with his sister and had a clinic in block B in the same town. He said that Shiv Kumar had become friendly with a girl living in the same area. But when the girl8217;s brother, Sunil, came to know of the relationship, he objected to it and the two were even said to have argued over it a number of times.

Meanwhile, Sunil came into contact with Ali who was a rickshaw-puller and plotted Kumar8217;s murder with him. He promised Ali Rs 5,000 for the task. The two persuaded Shiv Kumar to accompany them to a marriage in Uttar Pradesh on February 23. When the trio reached Kashipur, Ali and Sunil murdered Shiv Kumar and abandoned his body there. They then returned to Delhi.

Ali told the police that Sunil did not keep his side of promise and gave him only Rs 1,000.

Bhatnagar said that since Shiv Kumar had told his family that he was going to attend a wedding, they were not worried and therefore no missing persons report had been registered.
