Having crafted a nail-biting victory that kept India alive in the seven-match One-Day International series against England, Robin Uthappa said that he had kept the forthcoming Twenty20 World Cup in mind while practising unorthodox shots.

“I have been practising different shots for the Twenty20 WC, and they came out perfectly,” said Uthappa. Most of the 21-year-old’s 47 were scored behind the stumps, scooping over fine leg.

“The fine leg was up, so I knew they were going to bowl mainly yorkers. So I decided that I was either going to hit straight down the ground or take it on the full and hit it over fine leg,” Uthappa said.
