CHANDIGARH, Nov 18: As many as 12 vendors in Grain Market of Sector-26 were challaned for selling loose spices.

The challans were made under the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act by the local health authority, Dr G. Dewan.

Stern action would be taken against the vendors if they continue to sell spices in loose form, said Dr Dewan. The packets should mention the batch number, manufacturing and expiry date of the product.
