Ousted Nahan Block Development Committee BDC chairman Yash Pal Sharma, belonging to the Congress, has been trying for the past three weeks to get his chair back, after the Himachal High Court ordered his reinstatement. Sharma was sacked from the post of chairman in March this year, allegedly at the behest of ruling party leaders. He said he would lodge a complaint in court against the District Panchayat Officer DPO, who, he said, was playing in the hands of the BJP. He said he would file an application of contempt of court.

On the other hand, elected chairman Dev Darshan Sharma of the BJP today met the Sirmour Deputy Commissioner along with 10 BDC members out of the total 18. He said a plea had also been filed in the High Court and the next hearing is on November 26. He said he would honour the decision of the court in case it would go against him. He appealed to the DC to defer offering the chairmanship to Sharma till the HC decision. M.S. Negi, DPO, said he had consulted law officers and a decision would be taken shortly.
