Don8217;t hesitate to ask for it: Bibimbap is one of Korea8217;s best-known dishes this side of Seoul. Nutritious and delicious, bibimbap is a simple-to-make dish. It just takes steaming hot sticky rice and ladles of vegetable stew or meat to get it right. In Korean, it means 8216;mixed meal8217;.

The first mention of bibimbap has been found in a 19 century anonymous cookbook called Siuijeonseo. In the book it8217;s called Buibuimbap.

A raw or fried egg and pieces of beef are the usual additions to a dish of bibimbap. These ingredients are mixed into the dish just before eating. In most Korean households, it8217;s a common everyday food. In Mumbai, ask for bibimbap at Pan Asian, ITC Grand Maratha and India Jones, Trident.
