Trinamool supporter alleges rape

A Trinamool Congress supporter has alleged that she was raped by CPM workers at Kanungochowk village in Nandigram when she was alone at home on Saturday.

Nandigram police station officer-in-charge Prosenjit Banerjee said the FIR filed by the 35-year-old woman said three CPM supporters broke open the door of her house in the noon and raped her.

She was sent to the Tamluk sub-divisional hospital for medical tests, but no arrest has been made so far, Banerjee added.

The CPM local committee secretary, Ashok Bera, however, claimed the complaint was false as the tests had turned out to be negative.
