Marcus Trescothick bludgeoned his seventh limited-overs century as England set West Indies an imposing target of 282 to win the fifth one-day international on Saturday.
Trescothick, who struggled for form in the Test series, smashed 13 fours and two sixes in his 130 to help the touring side rack up 281 for eight from their 50 overs.
But English hopes of posting a total of more than 300 were dashed when they lost four quick wickets late on.
Andrew Flintoff struck a powerful 59 in a partnership of 110 with Trescothick for the fourth wicket
