CHANDIGARH, MARCH 18: The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal has condemned UT Administration proposal to impose heavy registration and renewal fees under the amended Shops-cum-Commercial Establishments Rules 1958 which covers all shops of the city.

At its meeting held here today, general secretary Diwakar Sahoonja said the increase of tax burden on traders undergoing great recession was uncalled for. The Beopar Mandal has urged Advisor to the UT Administrator Jagdish Sagar and secretary, Labour and Employment, not to proceed for any amendment in the Act without taking traders into confidence, he added.
