HYDERABAD, May 16: It will be battle between two minnows of world cricket Bangladesh and Kenya, in the second league match of the three nations Coco Cola Cup day-night One-Day international match to be played here tomorrow evening.

The Kenyans, with better track record, who have upset the apple cart of former world champions West Indies in the 1996 World Cup at Pune just two summers back are the favourite in the match.

The Kenyan team will be playing their first league match of the tourney while Bangladesh gave a good fight to the former world champions India in their opening match which they lost, played at Mohali, few days back.

The Kenyan team, most of the players who have played in the South African league, will prove a better side than their rivals who qualified for the 1999 World Cup.

Kenyan skipper Asif Karim told newsmen, “A total of about 250 plus runs on this good batting track would be a match winning one.”

“Our teams fielding is much better than those of the rival,” he said andadded, “With this, we have depth in our batting line-up, and this would be to our advantage.”

“But we are not taking Bangladesh lightly,” Asif said.

“Our main batsmen are Stephen Tikolo and Muarice Odumbe if these two batsmen get going they can win the match,” he added.

Odumbe, who arrived two days late, as he was not released from his contract with the Dutch team in Hague, missed the chance of leading his country in the ongoing Tri Nations tournament.

The new ball would be handled by Tonysuji, Martin Suji, Thomas Odoya, off-spinner Idumbe and skipper Asif Karim who bowed left-arm spin. On the other hand, Bangladesh, who lost their opening league match to India by five wickets, are looking forward to take on Kenya. But their skipper Mohammad Akram Khan is a doubtful starter as the team coach Gordon Greenige will have the last word provided he gets an ok from the doctors.

The Bangladesh side would depend on their make shift captain Aminul Islam who scored a superb 70 runs, Naimur Rehman andKhaled Mohmud.

But for these three batsman, the Bangladesh side could have lost their opening round league match with a much bigger margin.
