Too close for comfort

The Civil Aviation Ministry has renewed efforts to push the Group of Ministers to expedite matters and arrive at an early decision on the Taj Airport at Jhevar, Greater Noida. The Ministry is said to have sent a communication to GoM members, who include Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Law Minister H R Bharadwaj, to meet soon and take a call. GMR, which is modernising the Delhi airport, has argued that this violates contractual terms as the Jhevar airport would be barely 70 km away. Last heard Congress ministers were not too keen to push matters further.
