The names, ages and professions of passengers listed on the Titanic8217;s fateful journey have gone online for the first time, 95 years after the luxury liner sank on its maiden voyage. Pages featuring the original handwritten list are available, poignantly reflecting the emigration plans of many setting sail from Southampton for a new life in America in 1912. As many as 1,523 lives were lost when the ship, touted as 8220;unsinkable,8221; sank after hitting an iceberg. The list, which is available for free for one week at ww.findmypast.com, could help genealogists trace family members. Previously, the list could only be seen at the National Archives in Kew, southwest London.
