Ties with V-C cordial 8212; PUTA

PATIALA, Oct 31: Punjabi University Teachers8217; Association PUTA president Gurdeep Singh today asserted that PUTA had cordial relations with the V-C and that vested interests, both inside and outside the University, were trying to create a wedge and strain the relationship between the two.

In a press release issued today, the PUTA chief said there was no pressure on the Vice-Chancellor for withdrawal of certain items from the agenda of the University Syndicate meeting held on October 26. PUTA had only requested the Vice-Chancellor to withdraw the item regarding merit promotion and victimisation cases for reconsideration and the Vice-Chancellor had very gracefully accepted the request regarding victimisation cases.
