
GURGAON,Nov 29: Under it8217;s World Bank aided project, the Haryana government has given sanction for constructing three new roads in Gurgaon district.They are a two kilometre stretch in Budhera to Sultanpur, Bansai to Gati and Garhi Harsaru to Chandu. This was stated by the chairman of Bureau Public Enterprise, Sita Ram Singla while addressing a public meeting at Budhera.
Singla said that the central govt. has prepared an ambitious scheme to repair and maintain the roads with the help of the World Bank Fund Project.He added that the repair work will be taken up on a war footing.Giving details of the badly damaged roads which are being repaired in the city area, Singh said that the Municipal Council and the Public Works Department are spending about one crore rupees on the recarpeting of these roads.
In gurgaon, the main connecting and arterial roads were in a mess since the rainy season. The worst hit roads with huge pot holes were the road to Shiva Nagar, hospital road, Ramlila ground road, new railway road etc. However the administration has got some of these roads repaired while repair work on the others is still on.
However, the poor drainage sistem in the city has left the officials wondering whether the recarpeted roads will be able to sustain when it rains.
