
NEW DELHI, January 6: Five members of a UP-based gang, including two women, allegedly involved in the murder of a Delhi-based driver a year ago, have been arrested by the Delhi Police.
The men have been identified as Abdul Gani, Taukir Khan and Jasin, while the women are Fareeda and Parveen. They had reportedly hired a Tata Sumo from a travel agency in Delhi on April 17, saying they would travel to Lucknow.
On the way, the group reportedly drugged the driver, Balwinder. They strangled him later and dumped the body on the highway near Bareilly. According to DCP (north) S.N. Srivastava, the police zeroed in on the gang after the arrest of Abdul Gani, who lives in east Delhi. The others were arrested at his instance.
