PANCHKULA, June 12: Three people died and two were hurt, one seriously, in separate road accidents in Panchkula. The rash drivers in all five accidents managed to escape.
Avtar Singh, resident of Dhoda was killed when he was hit by a truck while en route to Barwala village on his cycle. A case has been registered against the truck driver Chote Lal who was driving rashly and fled the scene.
0A scooter-rider, Chattar Singh, was killed on the spot when he was hit by a unidentified speeding vehicle. A case has been registered.
In another incident, Gurdip Singh was killed when he was hit by a speeding military truck, near the local Saket hospital. A case has been registered against the driver of the truck who managed to escape from the scene. A resident of Sector 5, Sunder Lal also lodged a complaint that he was hit by a speeding truck on Majri Chowk while he was riding his scooter. The driver managed to escape while Sunder Lal received injuries. In another incident, Tarsem Kumar, a resident of Naraingarh, was hit by a speeding Gypsy near Sector 8. Tarsem, who was travelling in a Maruti car, sustained injuries.
