
VADODARA, Nov 29: In the first-of-its-kind marketing fair, Marquest-98, organised by the students of the Faculty of Management Studies, concluding today, several companies came forward in educating the students of the faculty about marketing research.
Stating that the faculty students should conduct such fairs annually, Daewoo8217;s Marketing Executive R Pathan, said, 8220;Setting up a stall in Marquest was a unique experience and also served as a platform for carrying out business.8221; According to Pathan, while their showrooms were frequented by only those who wanted to purchase a car, the stall was visited by other people too.
Not only Daewoo, but other companies, like AIWA, too used the opportunity to make the people aware of their products. AIWA stall-owners claimed that they had sold off seven music systems during the three-day fair.
For the visitors too, it was an unique experience. 8220;This fair was quite unique for the people of the city,8221; said K C Pathak, who visited the fair for all the three days.
8220;While the fair was frequented by those interested in finance and cars, stalls set up by Cromptons Greaves and Acqua attracted the attention of housewives,8221; said one of the members of the Management Students Forum. According to him, the Food Village served as an added attraction for the children and the youths. 8220;Organising Marquest definitely served as an exposure for the students of this faculty as they had a direct interaction with the customers and the entrepreneurs,8221; he added.
