PANCHKULA, April 6: With the arrest of three persons, the district police has solved a theft case.

Gyasi Lal, a resident of Bir Ghagar, had registered a complaint on the night of April 3, saying that thieves had entered his house and taken away jewellery. A case under Section 457, 380 IPC was registered.

Those arrested include Shiva alias Satpal, Devi Chand and Chand, all residents of Bir Ghagar. The police has recovered gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 7,000 from their possession. Further investigations are on.

Meanwhile, the police, on a complaint lodged by Babu Khan of Godam village, has arrested three members of a gang involved in printing fake currency notes of Rs 500 denomination.

Those arrested include Pan Singh, Mangli and Dharam Pal. The police has recovered 40 fake currency notes each of Rs 500 denomination.

A search operation is underway to nab other members of the group.
