Dr Ali Bacher affirms that he has nothing more to reveal on Cronjegate 8212; the matchfixing scandal. The former South African captain and cricket administrator says he disclosed all before the King Commission.
On the eve of the India release of his autobiography Ali: The Life of Ali Bacher by Rodney Hartman, the chief protagonist of the book spoke to The Indian Express on Friday
8226; How close is the book to reality?
We tell it is as it happened. Rodney Hartman has spoken to 18 people while I spent over 300 hours with him. I have not vetoed any adverse comments. I believe it is balanced. Quite a few who have gone through the book have been surprised by its honesty.
8226; The match-fixing scandal will always be a blot on your progress card8230;
I came in for a lot of criticism on the sub-continent. What people fail to remember is that I was under oath while speaking to the King Commission. It was an official commission which was related to information from lot of sources. What I said before the King Commision related to the truth. There8217;s nothing more.
8226; Any regrets?
All I would say is that I have been priviliged to be associated with the game for such a long period 8212; from 1960 to the 2003 World Cup. There have been some wonderful moments and tough moments during those 43 years. I would go along the same path, I wouldn8217;t like to change that.
