The unsaid word

It would appear that the Gandhi lineage stops at Sanjay Gandhi for Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh8212;and this is not appreciated in certain quarters. At a book launch on his life on Friday, the wily minister sang paeans of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Sanjay, but there was no mention of Rajiv, Sonia or Rahul. Interestingly, among the pictures of Arjun Singh with the Dynasty in the book, there isn8217;t a single one of him with Sonia or Rahul. A day after his eulogy to the Gandhi family, he shared the stage with Sonia at the convocation of Jamia Hamdard. At the function, the two didn8217;t exchange a word, did not even seem to acknowledge each other8217;s presence. But Sonia did convey a message of sorts to the minister. In saying that the massive expansion in higher education carried Prime Minister Manmohan Singh8217;s 8220;imprint8221;, Sonia almost deleted the HRD minister8217;s role in the matter.
