The sweet life

How many times has your philosophical mind wandered while you enjoy the sweetness of a candy and made you compare that little thing with people in your life? Well, the probability is negligible. We can compare people with Gods, demons or for that matter, superheroes, but candy is too trivial a thing to be considered.

In her book 34 bubblegums and candies, Preeti Shenoy gives more reasons for us to consider little goodies in life a bit more worthy. A known blogger, Shenoy, brings in loads of humour that promises some light reading and a lot of relating to the content.

8220;My book comprises all that we face in everyday life, it could be an ugly situation or a rib-tickling scenario. I think life gives you enough matter to enjoy, to learn from and sometimes to cry over,8221; opines the Pune-based author who also writes a much-read blog called justamotheroftwo.blogspot.com.

Well this mother of two has shared some of humourous blunders that have accidentally taken place with her in the blog. And each has evoked good response. 8220;Given this response for humour I decided to make my first book a humourous one. However the book is complete with flavours of other emotions as well,8221; she adds.

Talking about the content of the book, Shenoy says that some chapters are deeply moving while others might leave you in fits of laughter. However, the beauty of the book lies in it being a commonplace, that is, people can relate to it instantly.

Humour, according to Shenoy, is the lifeblood and our body needs regular doses to keep going. 8220;No matter how grave the problem is, humour finds a way everywhere. It8217;s so important to live each day fully and this is demonstrated through various incidents from daily life through out the book,8221; she says.

Narrating the story behind an unusual but catchy title, Shenoy says, 8220;I find people like bubblegums and candies. Some come into your life, give their sweetness and fade away like candies. And some, meeting whom has been such a pleasure that you feel like meeting them time and again, are like bubblegums 8212; you relish them even after the initial flavour is gone.

8220;No matter how small the reference might be or how inconsequential the issue, it gives a hidden message. And that is exactly what I have tried to highlight in my book, which also deals with young AIDS patients, who yearn for love,8221; she adds.

After posting the preface of the book on her blog, she has received encouraging remarks. So those who are looking forward to grab a copy, the book that will be released on Saturday at Crossword will available in all leading bookstores.
