The report about the Mumbai serial train blasts investigation was originally prepared by one of the accused in Hindi and then translated into Gujarati by Usman Agarbattiwala, an accused in the July 26 Ahmedabad serial blasts, it has been learnt.
The Ahmedabad City Detection of Crime Branch DCB had recovered the report and other incriminating literature from the well of the Sidi Saiyed Mosque Complex in Lal Darwaja area on September 1.
On a tip-off, the DCB had recovered a plastic bag from the well, containing a register with the details of the police investigation into the Mumbai blasts in Gujarati language, a training manual for the terror camps across the country and police interrogation techniques including the details about narco analysis test.
Ashish Bhatia, Joint Commissioner of Police, DCB, said: 8220;The report was originally prepared by Ehtesham Siddiqui, an accused in the Mumbai blasts and a SIMI leader from Maharashtra, during his stay in the Arthur Road Jail. He had provided the same to SIMI ideologue Safdar Nagori.8221;
Bhatia said it is yet to become clear how Siddiqui conveyed the report to Nagori who in turn circulated it among the SIMI cadre.
