PUNE, March 1: A teenager working with Balajinagar based B J Roadlines was arrested after the Pune Municipal Corporation PMC lodged a first information report FIR accusing the owner and employees of the transport company of using forged octroi receipts to evade the duty.

Piyush Trivedi 19 of Balajinagar, who was arrested on Monday morning on the basis of the first information report, has been slapped with forgery and cheating charges.

The FIR also named Piyush8217;s father Bhupendra and the owner of the B J Roadlines transport company as the accused. They were not arrested till late in the evening.

The police said the fact that the transport company was using forged octroi receipts to evade duty came to light when the octroi department of Pune Municipal Corporation PMC received an anonymous letter.

PMC8217;s octroi inspector Vilas Kulgi has revealed that the transport company had forged several receipts.
