Technical snag hits phone lines

PUNE, June 3: Thousands of telephones in Bhavani Peth and Nana Peth areas went dead for more than two hours due to a technical snag at the Mahadji Shinde Telephone Exchange this afternoon.

According to Pune Telecom sources, the lines starting with the digits 64 and 65 went down around 3 pm. The telephone lines could be restored only around 5.30 p.m. after the technical staff identified the snag and rectified it.
