Ambika Soni, it seems, is going through a rough patch. The day the Union Culture Minister reached Tokyo, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe resigned. And the following day the Ram Sethu affidavit fiasco occurred and Cabinet colleague Jairam Ramesh broached the subject of her resignation. Soni8217;s media managers were hardpressed to handle one bad news after another. And not helping matters were her detractors who spun stories out of 10 Janpath on how Sonia was upset and how the Culture Ministry had put the Congress in a spot. With Law Minister H R Bhardwaj having distanced himself from the affidavit filed in the court, Soni had to rush to Sonia after she returned from Japan in a bid to regain some lost ground. Did she succeed? Time will tell.
