CHANDIGARH, Feb 14: 8220;THIS is a king8217;s tent,8221; replied Rahul, after interpreting the query through lip movement. Rahul, who has hearing and speech problem, is a Class II student of the Blue Bird Model School, Sector 16. A model of the tent that he has constructed for the school craft exhibition held today at the school gives an idea about his creativity.8220;He has always been a topper. He is much more intelligent than the normal kids in his class, and we treat him like a normal child,8221; says his teacher Vandana. She adds that there has been a 60 per cent improvement after four years of being in the school. Rahul was sent to this school as his parents wanted to treat him like a normal child, not a handicapped person.

The exhibition displayed creative works of pupils from pre-nursery to Class V. While the younger students were dressed up as flowers, fruits and vegetables, the elder ones were dressed as cobbler, traffic policeman, tailor, driver etc.
