CHANDIGARH, Dec 7: Pupils from all classes were on centre stage during the annual function of Dutt Vishesh School held in the school premises in Sector 26 here yesterday.

School principal Jayshree Lobo said that the idea was to inculcate confidence in each pupil, even though the quality of performance suffered. The students of class IV enacted a play, "Chandigarh Cameos”, featuring eminent personalities associated with the City like Le Corbusier, Anuradha Gupta, Kiron Kher and M. M. Puri. The chief guest on the occasion was Brother D’ Abreau, principal of St. John’s School. Other attractions were – "Boogie Woogie", umbrella dance, classical dance, "The battle of Kalinga" and a ballet. Ankur Nursery School also organised its annual function at Panjab University gymnasium. About 340 children of this nursery school participated in the cultural programme on the theme "Krishna”, which started with the birth of Lord Krishna and concluded with a Geeta updesh.

Deepmala Public School, Dera Bassi, also held its prize distribution function on Saturday, which was presided over by the president of Municipal Council, Dera Bassi, Jagjit Singh. Punjab Finance Minister Kanwaljit Singh was the chief guest.
