Management students of GGN Institute of Vocational Studies GGNIVS pursuing BBA and MBA under PTU, Jalandhar, returned after a two-day visit to India International Trade Fair IITF at Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
During the two days, the visiting delegation comprising students and faculty members from the college, interacted with experts from different countries like USA, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Thailand and China and notified technological progress in various fields like electronics, defence, agriculture etc.
8220;In the exhibition, we came across so many stalls for each industry that it was easy to study, examine and decide for the one offering you the best bargain. It made us believe that India can certainly be a good host to international giants8221;, said Sonal Kalra, a student of MBA-I.
The show gave students the opportunity to understand the strategy of importers, exporters, volume buyers and purchasing managers who want to source direct from new quality suppliers in various countries. The trade fair show-cased items from textiles, garments, house-hold, kitchen appliances, processed food and even the products of personal use like jewellery, cosmetics and health-care.
GGNIVS coordinator Manjit Chhabra said such visits were organised to give the students a break from the regular classroom teaching. 8220;IITF is the place where more than 10,000 Indian and overseas companies take part and registers millions of foot-falls. So our students were given the chance to be a part of India8217;s largest show.8221;
