PUNE, May 17: Uncertainty prevails over the timely declaration of results of the Higher Secondary Certificate HSC and Secondary School Certificate SSC with 1500-odd employees of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education planning an indefinite agitation from June 2.

Examinations to standard X and XII were held on March 11 and 18 respectively. While these examinations were also fraught with tension due to the strike by the non-teaching college employees, now the declaration of the results is likely to be hampered due to the proposed agitation.

While employees have been sporting black badges as a mark of protest from May 15-17, they will carry out a 8220;work-to-rule8221; agitation on May 23 and go on mass casual leave from May 25. Employees from all the eight divisional boards of Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Amravati, Aurangabad, Kolhapur and Latur will launch their indefinite agitation from June 2.

While a majority of their 11 pending demands include consideration of interrupted service under the pension scheme, the Class IV employees have also protested against the discriminatory treatment whereby they are not provided the reason for the permanent transfer 8211; the board has asked Class IV employees to submit in writing their unconditional acceptance of the permanent transfers, if made. No decision has been made with regard to junior clerks.

While highly-placed officials said that the proposed agitation would not affect the timely declaration of results as examiners8217; had already assessed the papers. The feeding of marks in the computer and the processing of the marksheets is likely to be affected. Last year the HSC results were declared on June 7 and this year too the results will be declared on time, board officials on the condition of anonymity insisted. Board chairman Vijay Patil was unavailable for comment.

Mass shifting
Nearly 20-25 high-ranking officials of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education have been transferred with a new chairman for the Pune Divisional Board too. Rajan Phansalkar, former chairman of the Mumbai Divisional Board took charge on April 30.
