
MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 3: The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee will launch a state wide agitation to protest against the decision of the Atal Behari Vajpayee Government to review the Constitution.
8220;Under no circumstances, we will allow the review of the constitution as that will amount to contempt of the architect of the Constitution, Babasaheb Ambedkar,8221; MPCC President Prataprao Bhosale said.
Bhosale also condemned the decision of the Gujarat Government to allow its employees to participate in the activities of the Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh RSS. 8220;Such a decision will result in complete politicisation of administration and the government should immediately revoke the proposal,8221; he added.
Meanwhile, NCP leader D R Patil, who was scheduled to join the Congress, failed to reach the MPCC office. According to a senior Congress leader, Patil had met Bhosale on Wednesday and was likely to join the party to protest against NCP8217;s decision to admit Ganesh Naik into the NCP.
