MUMBAI, FEB 11: St Stanislaus teams posted convincing victories today in the under-10 league matches of the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School Hockey Tournament being staged at Stanislaus’ ground, Bandra.

Keegan Periera struck thrice to power Stanislaus A’s 4-0 victory over St Andrew’s, Bandra while Alessandro Pinto (2) steered Stanislaus B to a 3-1 win over St Michael’s, Mahim.

Don Bosco, Matunga A’, however, claimed the day’s honours for posting a huge 6-0 victory over St Andrew’s, Bandra C’.

Appachu Boverianda led the goal charge with three goals while Harmeet Singh, Hormuz Bana and C Muthanna scored a goal each to complete the rout.

Super Cup cricket

The second edition of the Kellogg’s Super Cup Inter-School Cricket Tournament would get under way at Cross Maidan from February 15.

The top 21 teams of the Harris Shield and Giles Shield tourneys held this season would feature in the event which offers Rs 16,000 for the winners. Cash prizes of Rs 9,600 and Rs 2,400 for the runners-up and losing semi-finalists respectively are also at stake. Besides, prizes for individual excellence too would be awarded. The player of the final will receive Rs 1000 while special incentives would be given to a bowler taking five wickets and above and a batsman scoring a century.

All semi-finalists would also be provided a kit bag each.

The tournament to be staged under the aegis of Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA), will be in a knockout format with 45-over-aside contests.

The MSSA-Colgate 23rd annual Inter-School Lawn Tennis Tournament will be held at the Garden Tennis Academy, Schools Sports Centre, Azad Maidan from February 13, states an MSSA release.
