Spurt in thefts

KULLU, May 17: Spurt in the theft of stereos, batteries, tyres from the cars and vans parked on the roadside on the Rangri-Kanyal link road during night hours, has raised many an eye brow here.

On Saturday night, a battery was stolen from a Maruti car. The car was parked at Rangri village on the roadside just adjoining the residence of its owner. While on Thursday night, a stereo, a battery, a tyre and a jack were stolen from a Maruti van in the same village. Two more car stereos were reportedly taken away from Maruti cars parked on the roadside on the same link road near Chhiyal village on Thursday night by the thieves. The local police have registered a case.
