French protester released
HOCKENHEIM: The Frenchman who wandered around the circuit during the German Grand Prix and crossed the track in front of oncoming cars was released from custody on Monday and allowed to return home, police said.
The man was released after putting up 2,000 marks ($950)bail following the arrival of his wife.
Yorkshire overtake Lancs
LONDON: Yorkshire moved above Roses rivals Lancashire into second place in the English County Championship title race on Monday but it was a frustrating day for everyone concerned at Headingley.
The game looked destined to end in a draw with Lancashire 18 runs ahead and with eight second-innings wickets remaining, and so it proved, although no action was possible as torrential rain forced an early end to any hope of a clearcut result before the scheduled start.
Yorkshire captain David Byas was happy with the 11 points, which moved his team to within three points of Division One pace-setters Surrey.
Yorkshire will be without four players, who are on England duty, for their forthcoming trip to Somerset, while Lancashire take on Surrey at The Oval on Wednesday in a game that will have a massive impact on the title race.
