
Chitkara students are all set to vrroom into SAE-A in Australia
They love the road and will do anything for the thrill that set their pulses racing8230;anything, even if it means designing an all new car! But then it8217;s all for the love of the road. If you know the feel of that then you will identify with the urge that drew these students of Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Information Technology to spend more than a year to put together TAZZ- a formula student car.
Capable of running at a speed of 200 km per hour the car has a modified V4 592cc engine. Team leader, Gurpinder Virk informs, 8220;We have modified the engine as per rules supplied by the competition organizers. The frame of the car has been developed by using stainless steel pipes. It has hydraulic disc brakes and double wishbone suspension system. The body work of the car is under process and before going to Australia, we are going have a nation wide media launch in beginning of November.8221; The car is presently sponsored by Bridgestone, while technical sponsorships have come from Grace Automotives and Cheema Boilers Limited. Chitkara Director, Madhu Chitkara has funded the team with about six lakhs. The total cost of the project is around 20 lakhs. Amidst the knowledge that Australian and older teams will have an edge, their hopes are high. 8220;We are giving it our best shot and hope to race to victory!8221;
