To mark the Disability Week, special children studying in different government schools and in some private institutes celebrated picnic at Science city, Kapurthala, under the guidance Anil Matharoo, district coodinator, Inclusive Education for Disabled. Seventy children along with their teachers visited Pushpa Gujral Science City under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan. The children were also served snacks and lunch on this occasion. Anil said, 8220;It was a memorable visit for the children as they learnt a lot of things related to science.8221; This is the first time that SSA planned this outing for special children.

Students shine in chess tourney
Students of Green Land Senior Secondary School bagged top positions in the annual district open chess championship. Tapsi Pahwa bagged first position in senior girls category, Divanshu Jain bagged second position in U-13 boys, Amarpreet Kaur secured second spot in U-13 girls, Anubhav Sharma stood second in U-9 boys and Sunakshi Batra setteld for the third position in U-13 girls.
