Salaam Namaste,
Yash Raj Music
THE score has got to be Vishal-Shekhar8217;s most stylish piece of work, surpassing their work in Dus and Musafir. The title track, sung by Kunal Ganjawala and Vasundhara Das, has a Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy touch. The bhangra number with dhol beats and a hint of growling guitarwork goes down well.
Nikihil Chinnappa has done a fantastic job of the dhol mix, without tampering with the original version and yet giving it a dance-floor frenzy. Like most Shaan tracks, My Dil Goes Mmmm is hummable. The club version by DJ Aqeel, while having an 8216;80s feel, isn8217;t as wild as most Aqeel numbers.8220;
Can8217;t miss the Bee Gees8217; Staying Alive twist to What8217;s Goin On. The title works as the track8217;s catchphrase, and Ganjawala8217;s vocals remind you of Kishoreda when he slips into an easier, less affected voice.
Don8217;t expect too much from Tu Jahaan. It sounds like Sooraj Hua Madham in parts, and one would think Sonu Nigam and Mahalaxmi Iyer a favourite of the composer duo would have the best composition. But you8217;d be wrong.
Expect the album to trigger a new ringtone mania.
