The tycoon says the technical eligibility criteria is aimed at keeping at bay Indian firms. The tycoon has approached the High Court, which in turn has restrained BCCI from opening the financial bids till the next date of hearing on the 8216;technical eligibility issue8217; on Dec. 12. As the row brews, he is turning to other events 8212; he has entered a Rs 500 crore 10-year telecast deal with the Indian Football Federation. But a breakthrough is possible only if he can gradually make soccer as exciting in India, as it already is in Europe and Latin America. One hopes he has a secret plan to take that big leap.
