Bringing out the dark side of life amidst hilarious situations or the other way, Wedding Album was as much a treat for a theatre connoisseur as it was for a layman. The play written by Girish Karnad, directed and produced by Lilette Dubey was rightly called as the face of English theatre in India as it reflected life of a middle class family with each character having typical traits, yet standing out for the audience to think, admit, agree as well as enjoy. The story revolves around a family where the younger daughter is about to get married to an NRI, whom she has barely met. The story in its flow touches relationships, besides holding on to the main subject. Comedy is the one of the main element of the story that keeps the audience in lighter spirit thus keeping them fresh enough to accept the truth shown. The cast included Ira Dubey, Smita Jayekar, Suchitra Pillai, Rajiv Paul . The play that was staged in the city this Saturday opened to a packed audience.
