PANCHKULA, Oct 6: With the arrest of five youths, local police claim to have solved three theft cases in the township. A police swoop yesterday netted Surinder, Satinder, Dinesh Kumar, Dharamraj and Madanpal, all residents of Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. According to sources, police recovered taps, vessels and other goods worth Rs 72,500 from them.
After interrogation, it was revealed that Madan Pal and Surinder were the gang-leaders; the duo used to roam the lanes in residential areas at night in the guise of rehri-wallahs, looking for houses where no one appeared to be at home.
