Sisters consume poison after spat

Police said the incident was reported in Arvind Enclave of Kamruddin Nagar village of Nangloi area.

Deceased Sunita8217;s father is an ASI with the Delhi Police and is presently working as security personnel for Vice President Hamid Hansari. Priyanka8217;s father Azad Singh is a farmer in the Jhajjar district of Haryana.

Priyanka had recently come to Delhi from Jhajjar as her father wanted her to study under her uncle8217;s supervision. 8220;Priyanka had failed her Class IX exams quite a few times in the past, while Sunita was pursuing a JBT training course from a private institute near her home. Sunita often teased Priyanka over her failure which resulted in verbal spats. On the day of the incident, their family heard another loud quarrel between them and reprimanded them before leaving the house,8221; a senior police officer said. Later, Sunita8217;s mother Sumesh discovered them unconscious on the floor, with froth coming out of their mouths. Police rushed the two girls to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where Priyanka was declared dead on arrival. Sunita passed away on Thursday.
