March 31: Defender Subir Sinha of Air-India will lead Maharashtra in the 54th Senior National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy to be held at Guwahati from April 6 to 27. The team leaves for Guwahati tomorrow April 1 and will play Sikkim in their opening match on April 6.

The team

Goalkeepers: Yusuf Ansari, Partha Das both Air-India and K B Faisal Bank of India.

Defenders: Sandip Kharat, Ajay Acharya, Subir Sinha captain, Henry Picardo all 4 of Air-India, S Majumdar Mahindras, Evaristo Cardozo Bank of India, Nasir Hussain vice-capt, Central Bank and Imtiyaz Qureshi Solapur.

Midfielders: Satish Minz, Andrew Lewis both of Mahindras, Taposh Ghosh, K Paite both of Air-India, Caitano Fernandes Central Bank and Raju Mate Sangli.

Forwards: Ratan Singh RCF, Herbert Philip Mahindras, Anthony Fernandes Air-India, Xavier Swamy Ahmednagar, Amar Pardeshi, Vijay Kumar both of Poona and Girish Majumdar Jalgaon.
